Resort 18/19 key trend 1 - Florals

Trends, Resort 19Xiluva Lynch

Nice to see florals are still going strong from the Resort 19 runway shows. Gucci always seems to deliver delectable floral inspiration from their designs. There was also a lovely array of romantic prints from Altuzarra, Antonia Marras, Bluemarine, Etro, Givenchy , Kage, Louis Vuitton, MSGM, Rochas and Ulla Johnson. Time to update the florals.

My 5 favourite 'Trend Forecasting' sites

TrendsXiluva Lynch

It can be overwhelming to decipher trends in the ocean of images out there. Everyone has their own personal favourite websites for trend research and inspiration. For various reasons these are mine.

1. Tag-walk

View the latest collections in easily categorised tags. Whether you want to concentrate on colour, florals, stripes, seasons or specific labels, this website allows you to pinpoint what you want. You can even create your own mood boards as you go. https://www.tag-walk.com

2.   The Business of Fashion

This almost feels like the BBC news of the fashion world. While they do cover fashion shows and trends, it's their articles into the darker side of the fashion industry I find particularly interesting. A great way to stay up to date on important issues within the industry. https://www.businessoffashion.com

3. Fashion Gone Rogue

So many websites concentrate on forecasting what the next trend will be, this website focuses more on what is happening right now. Picking up on popular items from the latest magazine campaigns and celebrity collaborations. It's an overview of the trends that have successfully moved from the runway into the more commercial popular sphere. https://www.fashiongonerogue.com

4.  Lui made it

A beautiful tumblr account of images collated into 'colour stories'. Perfect for matching to your own mood boards and trend reports. Set up in a one page format of colour palettes you can scroll through. It's a dreamy excursion to the perfect colour you seek. http://luimadeit.tumblr.com

5. Pattern People

This one stop shop covers fashion and interior design trends specifically for surface print designs. While they offer paid trend reports,  their online journal often pinpoints a special aspect within a trend you might have missed. https://patternpeople.com/journal/
